Our Commitment

Healing Horizons for FND provides safe, low-pressure, community-based support for people living with Functional Neurological Disorder and those who care for them.

Every program is designed to be:

  • age-inclusive
  • zero pressure to speak
  • community-focused

You are welcome exactly as you are.

Hosted online across Canada, our peer support groups are designed to be steady, respectful, and accessible.

Our groups provide:

  • a calm, structured small-group environment
  • optional participation, listening is welcome
  • gentle, trauma-informed communication
  • trained volunteer hosts
  • FND-friendly pacing
  • age-specific options
  • dedicated caregiver and professional groups

These groups help you feel less alone while building supportive connections in a safe space.

We will be offering the following peer support options:

  • Children (5–7) with FND
  • Children (8–12) with FND
  • Teens (13–17) with FND
  • Young Adults (18–25) with FND

  • Parents & Caregivers

Each group follows the same calm, predictable structure while remaining responsive to the needs of its participants.

Healing Horizons for FND is currently launching a Saskatchewan-based Adult Support Group pilot. Additional peer support groups will be introduced gradually as capacity expands and programs are fully established.

As HHFFND grows, we intend to offer optional workshops and events that are accessible, FND-friendly, and grounded in lived experience.

Future topics may include:

  • understanding Functional Neurological Disorder
  • coping tools and grounding strategies
  • movement and rehabilitation principles presented accessibly
  • navigating school, work, and daily life with FND
  • family and caregiver support and communication
  • collaboration with healthcare providers and educators

When workshops and events are offered, they will be designed with gentle pacing, clear structure, and respect for fluctuating energy levels.
