What Is FND?

A Calm Place for People Living With FND

Healing Horizons for FND is a nonprofit initiative created by and for people living with Functional Neurological Disorder and their families. Our focus is gentle support, clear information, and FND-friendly spaces that respect energy limits and sensory needs. All of our programs follow calm, low-pressure, FND-friendly communication. Cameras are optional for adults, and there is never pressure to speak.

Who We Support

FND can affect anyone. Our programs are organized so each group can feel safe, understood, and supported at their own pace.

Children & Teens

Children (5–7) with FND         Children (8–12) with FND       Teens (13–17) with FND

Adults and Young Adults

Young Adults (18–25) with FND          Adults with FND         Seniors (65+) with FND

 Parents & Caregivers

How We Help

We offer non-clinical support that works alongside medical care, never in place of it. Everything is designed to be predictable, gentle, and as low-demand as possible. Our impact includes reduced isolation, clearer understanding of FND, and safer, more supportive experiences reported by participants and families.

Safety, Access, and Boundaries

  • Two trained adults are present in all groups involving minors.
  • No one-to-one unsupervised contact with children or teens.
  • Healing Horizons is not a crisis or emergency service.

A Steady Place to Land

Healing Horizons for FND exists to offer something many people living with Functional Neurological Disorder are missing: steadiness. This is a place where nothing is rushed, nothing is assumed, and nothing about your experience is dismissed. Whether you are here to learn, to find support, or simply to feel less alone, you are welcome to move at your own pace. There is no “right way” to be here. Take what you need, leave what you don’t, and return whenever it feels helpful.
