Saskatchewan Adult Support Group Pilot
Healing Horizons for FND is launching a Saskatchewan-based Adult Support Group pilot.
This pilot is the first phase of HHFFND’s structured peer support programming and is intentionally limited in size and scope to ensure stability, quality, and responsible growth.
The Saskatchewan Adult Support Group pilot will operate as:
- A small cohort of 6–8 participants
- Adults aged 18+
- Saskatchewan residents
- Hosted virtually
- Facilitated using a standardized session structure
- Delivered in a defined series format
Limiting group size supports balanced participation and consistent pacing.
Each session follows a consistent framework:
- Brief grounding and orientation
- Structured discussion prompt
- Moderated peer reflection
- Optional coping strategy focus
- Clear and intentional closing
Sessions are facilitated to maintain structure, emotional safety, and equitable participation.
Participation is voluntary. Listening is acceptable. Speaking is optional.
This pilot is appropriate for individuals who:
- Are 18 years of age or older
- Reside in Saskatchewan
- Identify as living with or navigating Functional Neurological Disorder
- Are stable enough to participate in a moderated peer environment
This program does not provide therapy, medical treatment, or crisis intervention services.
Participants requiring urgent or clinical care may be referred to appropriate services.
To protect group stability, all participants complete:
- A brief intake form
- A participation agreement
- A screening review for appropriateness of fit
Enrollment is confirmed individually prior to program start.
Sessions are not recorded.
Participants agree not to record, screenshot, or distribute group content. This policy supports confidentiality and psychological safety.
As a pilot initiative, this program allows HHFFND to:
- Evaluate participant experience
- Assess structural effectiveness
- Refine facilitation protocols
- Ensure responsible program expansion
Additional peer support groups will be introduced gradually as organizational capacity grows.
Adults living with FND in Saskatchewan who are interested in participating may review the Participation Agreement and submit an intake request below.
Building Steady, Sustainable Support in Saskatchewan
The Saskatchewan Adult Support Group pilot represents the first phase of HHFFND’s structured peer programming. By beginning with a focused, provincially grounded pilot, we are prioritizing safety, stability, and long-term sustainability.
Our commitment is to grow carefully, responsibly, and in alignment with the needs of individuals living with Functional Neurological Disorder.
