Safety & Screening Process
To help ensure a stable and supportive group environment, all participants complete a brief screening process before joining.
This helps confirm that the group format is an appropriate fit and that participants understand the structure and expectations of peer-based support.
Eligibility Overview
Participants must:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Reside in Saskatchewan
- Identify as living with or navigating Functional Neurological Disorder
- Be comfortable participating in a structured, moderated peer setting
- Agree to group guidelines and confidentiality expectations
Important Considerations
Our support groups are best suited for individuals who are:
- Not currently in acute mental health crisis
- Not seeking clinical therapy or medical treatment
- Able to participate respectfully in a shared group environment
If a participant’s needs exceed what peer support can safely provide, we may recommend alternative supports.
This process is not about exclusion, it is about ensuring that all participants can engage safely and benefit from the group structure.
