Healing Horizons for FND (HHFFND) is a Canadian nonprofit organization committed to responsible and principled leadership.
We operate in a way that is:

Strong governance helps protect participants, volunteers, staff, and the long-term health and credibility of the organization.
HHFFND is incorporated as a nonprofit under Canadian federal law. Our governance framework is guided by:
- a Board of Directors
- clear bylaws and organizational policies
- defined volunteer and program standards
- safeguarding and youth protection principles
The Board provides oversight, stewardship, and strategic guidance as HHFFND’s programs and reach grow across Canada.
The Board of Directors is responsible for:
- upholding HHFFND’s mission, vision, and values
- ensuring programs remain safe, ethical, and aligned with our purpose
- reviewing and approving key organizational policies
- overseeing financial stewardship and sustainability
- supporting long-term planning and responsible growth
Board members are expected to adhere to HHFFND’s Conflict of Interest, Code of Conduct, and Confidentiality expectations.
A more detailed Board and leadership structure will be shared as our governance model continues to develop.
Key organizational decisions at HHFFND are made with careful consideration and structured processes, including:
- Board review and approval for major policies and strategic direction
- Input from people with lived experience where appropriate and possible
- Consideration of safety, accessibility, equity, and inclusion
- Consultation with advisors and professionals when relevant
Programs, resources, and practices are regularly reviewed and refined as the organization grows and learns.
HHFFND maintains clear expectations that Board members, volunteers, and advisors act in the best interests of the organization and the community it serves.
